DESCRIPTION:Please support us this October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2025\nBreast Cancer Awareness Month is a worldwide annual campaign that takes place every October with the aim of raising important breast awareness and funds for those breast cancer charities that support those diagnosed.  As the only charity fundraising and supporting solely Worcestershire patients this is the most important time of the year for us. \nWe exist to provide practical and emotional support to the women and men of Worcestershire with their breast care needs\, working closely with the NHS specialist breast care team here in Worcestershire Breast Unit and throughout the county to provide the best possible care in the best possible environment.  We offer a wide range of support services ranging from a support group\, to gym rehabilitation classes\, pink ribbon pilates\, mindfulness and complementary therapies to support patients with side effects of treatment to name just a few.  We also fund items such as mastectomy bras\, chemotherapy care packages\, support literature and specialist equipment. \nApproximately 800 women and 7 men are affected by breast cancer each year in Worcestershire and our charity is there to help each and every one.  To allow us to do so\, we need to raise £250\,000 per annum. \nWhat can you do to support? \nIndividuals\, family\, friends\, colleagues\, community groups\, local businesses\, schools – do something pink this month to support us.  \n\nHost a Pink October coffee morning\nA pink raffle\nA bake off\nChoose a day to dress in pink – think pink socks\, pink shirt or even a pink wig – dress in pink and make a donation\nAnything goes – be as creative as you like!\n\nIf you’d like to support us – please contact Lexi on 01905 733 786 or Alexandra.craigie@nhs.net to register your pink activity\, discuss further and see how we can support you (pink buckets/shakers/banners/t-shirts etc). \nHow to donate:\nIn order to donate to Pink October\, please follow this link and click on the ‘Give Now’ button.   \nAlternatively\, our Charity Director\, Lexi Craigie\, would be happy to answer any questions you may have and advise you how best to donate via cash\, cheque or bank transfer.  Please contact Lexi on alexandra.craigie@nhs.net or 01905 733 786.

DESCRIPTION:Unfortunately we have had to make the decision to postpone Fridays Firewalking event. \nSafety for everyone involved is our number one priority.  The weather predicted (now named Storm Claudia) makes running the Firewalk in high winds dangerous\, while the torrential rain and flood warnings concern us for all involved regarding travel.  \nThis decision has not been made lightly and we do apologise. \nWe will work closely with the Firewalk company to rearrange for a new date in 2026 and will communicate this as soon as possible.

DESCRIPTION:WBUH Breast Cancer Patient Support Conference \nOur inaugural conference is being held on Tuesday 28th April\, at the Worcestershire County Cricket Club in Worcester city centre. Take a seat in the Graeme Hick Pavillion to listen to our experts speaking on subjects such as treatment side effects & the menopause\, fear & anxiety\, physical activity\, nutrition and breast-checking.  There will be a Q&A panel in the afternoon to help answer your questions and concerns. \nIn the Chestnut Marquee you will be able to meet with Worcestershire support providers\, and find out about all the different support on offer to help you as you move forward following active treatment. This will include support groups \nClinical team members and the WBUH team will also be on hand to help you. \n  \nAdditional Information\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration will be from 8.45am with a prompt start at 9.15am. DESCRIPTION:Biking Breast to Brest 2026 – JustGiving \n2026 is a year of celebration as it’s 10 years since the Worcestershire Breast Unit opened its doors and the Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven charity started fundraising to support Worcestershire patients with breast cancer. Over that period\, some 51\,000 women and men have been referred through our breast services doors with different breast health issues\, and from there 6\,768 of those have been diagnosed with breast cancer. The Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven charity exists to support those people from the point of diagnosis\, through treatment and recovery\, offering emotional and practical support over and above what the NHS can provide. \n  \nBiking Breast 2 Brest is the brainchild of Breast Consultant Steven Thrush who started with a germ of an idea and has developed it into a challenge that is seeing 22 like-minded people cycle alongside him from the Worcestershire Breast Unit in Worcester to Brest in France. \n  \nThe four-day challenge will see the cyclists leave Worcester and head down to the South coast\, over the Channel and through France\, cycling on average 70 miles a day to complete the 300 mile adventure. \n  \nTraining for this journey is a must\, and our intrepid adventurers are well underway with this.
