DESCRIPTION: On Wednesday 1st February\, the Wednesday Club will be holding their first networking event of 2023 at Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven\, Charles Hastings Way\, Worcester\, WR5 1DD from 5.30 pm on Wednesday 1 February 2022. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven (WBUH) charity supports the women and men of Worcestershire with their breast care needs. Established in April 2016\, following the work of the WBUH campaign\, which succeeded in raising the £1.8 million needed to fund the build of the new Worcestershire Breast Unit. \nSome of you will recall that Wednesday Club visited WBUH back in January 2017\, and are visiting again to learn more about how Worcester’s only breast cancer charity supports the Unit and NHS teams with their requirements (which are above and beyond NHS funds) and to see how the Unit has developed since our last visit\, six years ago. \nOn arrival at this event\, you will be treated to a welcome drink and tour of these wonderful facilities\, learn more about the charity and their forthcoming fundraising events and of course take part in our raffle to raise funds for WBUH – all their care is provided free of charge to their patients! \nAfter the tour we will be providing a light buffet for our attendees and will finish the evening around 7 pm. \n\nTo book your place and to find out more please visit: \nWednesday Club Networking Event – Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven – 1st February 2023 – Wednesday Club \n  \n\n

DESCRIPTION:Please support us this October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2022\nBreast Cancer Awareness Month is a worldwide annual campaign that takes place every October with the aim of raising important breast awareness and funds for those breast cancer charities that support those diagnosed.  As Worcestershire’s only breast cancer charity this is one of the most important time of the year for us. \nAfter a tough few years for us all with the pandemic\, our charity continues to support those impacted by breast cancer.  We continue to work very closely with the phenomenal NHS Breast Care team here in the Worcestershire Breast Unit and throughout the county\, from the point of diagnosis with support packs\, through to practical help providing mastectomy bras to those in need\, advice on wigs and styling post treatment\, Pink Ribbon Pilates\, Nordic Walking\, Mindfulness courses and specialist exercise sessions.  We maintain direct support with those who need it via phone and messaging\, and run our support group for which we organise meet ups several times a month and run a private WhatsApp group. \nApproximately 800 women and 7 men are affected by breast cancer each year in Worcestershire and our charity is there to help each and every one.  To allow us to do so\, we need to raise £200\,000 per annum. \nWhat can you do to support? \nIndividuals\, family\, friends\, colleagues\, community groups\, local businesses\, schools – do something pink this month to support us.  \n\nHost a Pink October coffee morning\nA pink raffle\nA bake off\nChoose a day to dress in pink – think pink socks\, pink shirt or even a pink wig – dress in pink and make a donation\n\nFitness is also a great area to get involved.  Challenge yourself\, your family unit or friends to each walk 10\,000 steps a day in October\, cycle 10 miles a week each or run a combined marathon between 5 or 10 of you\, each donating and getting sponsorship for completing your challenge. \nIf you’d like to support us – please contact Lexi on 01905 733 786 or Alexandra.craigie@nhs.net to register your pink activity\, discuss further and see how we can support you (pink buckets/shakers/banners/t-shirts etc). \nHow to donate:\nIn order to donate to Pink October\, please follow this link and click on the ‘Start Fundraising’ button\, or donate directly by clicking on the ‘Give Now’ button.   \nAlternatively\, our Charity Director\, Lexi Craigie\, would be happy to answer any questions you may have and advise you how best to donate via cash\, cheque or bank transfer.  Please contact Lexi on alexandra.craigie@nhs.net or 01905 733 786.\n  \nThank you for your support

Join our new fundraising/wellness challenge this Easter! \nFollowing their successful fundraising walk in October 2020\, to Brest & back\, our Worcestershire Breast Unit support group is attempting a bigger\, challenge – CoastBusters – and is inviting you to join them and raise funds for our charity which supports the women & men of Worcestershire who are diagnosed with breast cancer.  \nThe new England Coastal Trail is a new route\, nearly 3000 miles long and follows the entire coast of England. It is divided into 67 sections of varying length\, starting at Aust in Gloucestershire\, near the Welsh border\, then follows the coastal margin in an anti- clockwise direction around the southern part of the country\, then heads north along the eastern coastline to the Scottish border. The last sections are from Gretna to Liverpool on the west coast.  \nCan you help us complete the walk between the Easter weekend & the Spring Bank Holiday 2021 and raise money for the WBUH.  \nThe link to the map can be found here:  \nhttps://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/970117/coastal-access-england-map.pdf  \n There is more information about the 67 sections and the distances for each section on our WBUH website. All distances are taken from to the Government Coastal Trail website pages.
