Pink October 2020

We are marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2020 with 31 of the many special women and men who come through the doors in some

capacity here at the Worcestershire Breast Unit.

This is Jo.

“I’m Jo Penson and I am a mammographer working at Hereford and Worcester Breast Screening Service. The service also covers the symptomatic work for Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Trust.

I also undertake the role of Health Promotion alongside my colleague Bryony. This involves engaging with the GP Practices throughout our screening area of Herefordshire and Worcestershire and attending local events to promote breast screening and breast awareness.

We have worked with the Breast Care Nurses and the South Worcestershire Community Learning Disability Nurses to hold a ‘My Breasts and Me’ event at The Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven.

Bryony and I have also joined WBUH on several Wear it Pink Days on their stand in the foyer at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, at other fundraising events and at local community events.”
