Update from Worcestershire Breast Unit

An update from Rachel King, Breast Care Nurse at Worcestershire Breast Unit

It is business as usual at the Breast Unit with regards to the symptomatic 2 week wait.  We do have reduced numbers but are running 4 symptomatic clinics a week and results clinics, wound reviews and biopsies.  There are no follow ups or screening as yet although we will update you as soon as we are able to on these.

Surgery is taking place Monday to Thursday at a Covid-19 free hospital, but with smaller numbers on each list .

Breast care nurses from all 3 sites, Redditch & Bromsgrove ,Kidderminster and Worcester are working together at the Worcestershire Breast Unit.  All staff have appropriate PPE, but we ask you not to come if you have any symptoms or have been in contact with anyone with symptoms of Covid-19.  You will have your temperature taken by the nursing staff and we ask that you attend on your own.  We do appreciate that this can be difficult but you will be well supported throughout.

We may take a little longer to get back to you, but we are here to support everyone, whether that be by phone (01905 760 261, please leave a short message and number) or face to face if required.
