Christmas Wreath Making with Jacquie

My friend Celia & I have been making our own Christmas wreaths in her kitchen for a few years. It always puts us in the mood for Christmas: the smell of the evergreens, mince pies for lunch and carols playing in the background. We are not professionals nor do we belong to a floristry group, but several friends asked us to make wreaths for their doors, which made us realised that it might be an enjoyable fund-raising event for the Worcestershire Breast Unit.

We hire our local village hall; raid the gardens of friends and neighbours for the greenery and rope in other friends to help make & serve the refreshments. We demonstrate how to start making a simple Christmas wreath & then everyone’s creative side takes over. Surprisingly it is very quiet, everyone concentrating on their creations. It is very relaxing & therapeutic and they are all delighted with their finished wreath.

So far we have raised about £700 & some ladies will be coming for the 3rd time this year.
